Deep Blue Sea

“I shouldn’t have gotten on the boat.  I know I shouldn’t have gotten on the boat,” Jim Ellison whispered to himself softly.  A mantra of sorts.  It wasn’t going to help him out of his current predicament, though.  Nothing would.

Jim Ellison was going down with the ship, through no fault of his own.  The engines had caught fire.  Explosions big and small had sounded in the night air like fireworks on the 4th of July.

“I’m going to die,” the big, burly detective thought to himself as he looked around frantically for some form of help that didn’t require him to actually getting into the water.

Big, burly and macho he might be, but he was also deathly afraid of the ocean.  All the endless blue made him extremely dizzy and nauseous.

He sighed unhappily.  Everyone else had scrambled onto life boats, forgetting all about him.  Stood to reason, since they were after all criminals; criminals eager to save their own hide.  So what if a cop went down with the ship?  They were about ready to shoot him anyway.

“If I ever get out of this alive, I’m going to hunt down the little fuckers and make them pay until they’re nothing but a red speck on the sidewalk,” Jim vowed softly.

The ship was going down fast.  Jim would have no choice soon, but to throw himself into the water.  They were miles from shore.  The water was freezing, but the only other alternative was to stay on board and burn to death.

With that in mind and a life jacket on, Jim Ellison jumped.

He gasped as the cold water hit him full force.  “Oh, God.  It’s c…cold.”

He looked around for something to swim toward.  Nothing.  Nothing, but a full moon and a star studded night.  Trying his best to get his bearing, he decided Cascade was north.

He began swimming, trying to push away the mind-numbing cold and the fact he didn’t know where the fuck he was.  Army Ranger’s training or not, he was so dead.

He turned to watch the ship explode into a fiery ball of flame, temporarily blocking out the moon and the stars.

Once the fireworks were over, he began to swim once again, hoping he wouldn’t be in the water to much longer.  He hoped the explosion was close enough to shore to be seen by someone who would come and investigate, saving him from drowning in the icy water.

He swam for fifteen minutes, getting colder and colder.  He sighed softly.  No help for him.  He was doomed.

He didn’t even know if he was swimming in the right direction.

His arms and legs were starting to hurt.  His teeth wouldn’t stop chattering.  What he wouldn’t give for a nice, big cup of coffee.

Jim Ellison vowed to himself as he swam, never ever again would he take another undercover assignment that required him to be near the ocean.

If he lived, that is.

He turned on his back and began to float, hoping that would help take some of the pressure off his arms and legs.

It did.

He still didn’t know where the hell he was.

Suddenly there was a slight disturbance in the water not too far from him.  He flipped over in alarm, hoping it wasn’t a shark.

A curly head popped out of the water, no more than two feet from him.

Jim let out a relieved sigh.  “Man, you scared the shit out of me.  I thought you were a shark.”  He frowned slightly.  “I don’t remember seeing you on the boat.” He said as he gazed over.  Whoever it was, he was definitely a man, if the five o’clock stubble was anything to go by.  But then, he’d seen some women who…well-he wasn’t going to go into that.  Not when his balls were slowly crawling up into his spine with cold.  “Do you know the fastest way to get to land?  I’m freezing here.”

The man swam closer, until he was inches from Jim.  Yup, most definitely a man.  With the prettiest, biggest blue eyes he’d ever seen.  How Jim would know that, even in the bright moonlight, he didn’t know and at this point, he fucking well didn’t care.  He just wanted to get warm.

The man came so close Jim could feel the heat coming off his body.  He had to fight himself to keep from reaching out to get some of the beckoning heat.  He still hadn’t gotten an answer.  “Did you hit your head or something when the ship exploded?  Why aren’t you answering me?”

A hand came out and touched his face.  It was so warm, Jim let out a small moan.  It felt so good and he was so cold.

He stared into those big blue eyes, allowing the hand to gently caress his face.  Who was he to complain anyway?  He’d never been that choosy about his love partners.  Why start now?  Besides the man was only touching his face.

Without realizing it, Jim had moved closer, instinctively seeking the warmth the other man offered.

It wasn’t until he was practically glued to his front that he realized that he wasn’t being touched by a man at all.

He was being touched by someone who had fins and a tail.  A merman?

“Y…you’re not h…human, are y…you?”

Mermen didn’t really exist, did they?

He’d died.  He’d drowned without realizing it and now he was dreaming.  Dreaming about a merman.  Weird dream to have, when you’re dead.  Especially if you weren’t too fond of the water.

He got a brilliant smile for his jumbled thoughts.  Almost as if the ma…merman could read his thoughts.

A hand came up and wrapped around his waist, pulling him closer, he other hand still gently, soothingly touching his face.

That was when Jim realized the merman was hard; really hard where his groin rested against his cold and shivering one.

“Do I turn you on?”  he asked softly.  “Weird that.  Being as I’m frozen solid at this point and probably dead.”

A warm nose nuzzled his sweetly.  That felt good and if he wasn’t a frozen popsicle, or maybe that should be mansicle, he’d be responding.  Oh, man-would he be responding.

He nuzzled back, his arms coming up to pull the other closer, needing the warmth and affection desperately.

A mouth sought his and he willing allowed it entry.  He felt warmer for some odd reason; warmer and turned on as a tongue dueled happily with his.  He moved closer, hungrily, tangling his fingers in wet curls, opening his mouth wider.  Hands ran up and down his back, spreading liquid heat.  He moaned softly into the mouth covering his.

Nimble fingers began removing his clothing.  He allowed it, wanting to be free of them so much he thought he’d go crazy before they were gone.

He wasn’t cold anymore.  Dear God he wasn’t, as he began to gently move against the other man.  Good, so good.

He ran his own hands over a broad, very human back, going lower to feel satiny scales that started at hip level.  He felt lower, finding gently rounded mounds where buttocks should be and nothing else.  It felt almost as if the other man was in some sort of suit.  It couldn’t be a suit; he felt the hardness of an erection rubbing against his.

Jim buried his face against a warm neck, sniffing.   The merman smelled of a warm summer day at the beach.  He tasted slightly salty to the taste.  Jim liked it-a lot.

“God, you feel good,” Jim whispered into a shell like ear, licking at it hungrily.

“I…like the way you feel and taste as well,” the merman spoke for the first time.

“You’re talking?”

A curly head nodded, as blue eyes looked at him shyly.  “Yes.  I can talk.”

Jim smiled at him, cupping his face.  “What’s your name, my beautiful guppy?”

The smile was returned.  “I am Blair.  I’m a merman, not a guppy.”

Jim chuckled softly.  “No, you’re not.”

“I saw the explosion of the boat.  I came to see if there was something I could do, even though it is forbidden to interfere in the lives of mortals.”

Jim kissed his nose.  “I’m glad you did.  Otherwise I’d be dead.”

“You are so beautiful.  Will you…”

“What?”

“Make love with me.”

Jim wrapped his arms around Blair, pulling him close.  “Here?  Now?  Right in the middle of the deep blue sea?”

A curly head nodded.  “Yes, please.”

“Oh, Blair.”

Jim rained wet kisses all over Blair’s face, listening to the happy giggles.  “I would love to.  I’ve never made love to a merman before.”

Blair moaned softly as a tongue dove deep into his mouth.  When they pulled apart, he said sadly, “You will not remember me.”

“W….Why?”

“Mortals must not know of our existence.  We would be hunted and destroyed.”

“I would never tell.  Never,” Jim vowed urgently.

“I know, but it is the law.  Can we have this time together before I take you to a place of safety?”

Jim frowned.  “B…Blair?”

“Please?”  The merman pleaded quietly.

Jim sighed.  “Alright.  But I don’t want you to take my memory.  Swear.”

Blair was silent for a long second.  “As you wish,” he whispered.

There was something in his tone that worried Jim, but hands urgently caressed his body, spreading fire and overwhelming lust.

Jim pulled him closer as he sought the merman’s lips with his own, noting that Blair’s body seemed to have changed.  Just below Blair’s penis, there seemed to be an opening.

He pulled away slightly.  “Blair?”

“It is the way of our people,” Blair replied, instinctively understanding what Jim was asking.  “This is how we propagate.”

“But Blair, I don’t want to have a baby with you.”

Hurt filled the big blue eyes.  “You find me repulsive?”

Jim cupped the merman’s face.  “No.  It’s not that.”

“We would make beautiful children together.”

Jim kissed his nose.  “Yeah, we probably would, but I don’t want to make babies that I’m going to forget I made.  I would want to be a part of my children’s lives.”

Blair nodded.  “I understand.  I will make sure that your seed does not come to fruition.”

“You can do that?”

Blair nodded again.  “Yes,” he replied softly, burying his face in Jim’s neck so he could not see the lie in his eyes. He began to rub his body against Jim’s.  “Love me for the time we have together.”

Jim kissed him, taking Blair’s tongue into his mouth. The merman murmured happily, wrapping his arms and tail around Jim’s body.

Jim felt his hard flesh go unerringly to the tiny opening, rubbing against it again and again.  Each time he did, Blair shuddered.

Reaching down between them, Jim took his hard penis in hand and began rubbing it, stroking the opening.  He felt it undulate wildly as he listened to Blair’s soft gasps of pleasure as he continued to stroke the soft fleshed opening.  Jim began to dip his penis into it slightly, watching as Blair tossed his curly head back and moaned loudly.

Jim felt himself going deeper as the flesh began to loosen, allowing him in. It was warm, so warm; almost to the point of being hot.  Hot, tight and slick.  As soon as Blair had loosened enough, Jim pushed all the way in.  Blair keened as Jim slid into him until they were belly to belly.  He began to pant softly as Jim began a gentle, rhythmic motion, barely moving the water still surrounding them

“Oh, Goddess.  Good. You feel so good.”

Jim smiled tightly as he began to pump harder into the tight flesh.  He’d never in his life felt anything like it.  It was like being encased in warm, moist velvet.  How they were staying upright in the water was beyond him, as he began to stroke harder and harder into Blair’s welcoming warmth.

He could feel the hardness of Blair’s penis against his belly.  He could feel the hot oozing of fluid before being taken by the cold sea water.  He tightened his grip on Blair as he began to pump as if his life depended on it.

Blair was now screaming in pleasure, meeting every thrust into his body with one of his own.  He was countering each thrust hungrily, passionately.

With a scream that echoed in the night air, Blair came.   He lay limply in Jim’s arms as his mortal lover continued to find pleasure in his body, whimpering softly as his sensitive flesh was scored again and again.  He would not ask for mercy as the mortal thrust again and again, to the point of pain.  Blair wanted this, even if it was becoming intolerable.

With a tightening of strong, muscled arms, the mortal, whose name he still did not know, but loved with all his heart, came, deep within Blair’s flesh, coating his insides with his seed.

Blair smiled inwardly.  He now had want he wanted.  Before Jim could react or stop him, the merman placed a hand against his forehead and sent the mortal into sleep.

Blair moaned softly as the penis that had given such pleasure slipped free.  He couldn’t, wouldn’t ask for more.   As it was, what he had done was illegal.

He began to tow the mortal toward land.  A land he’d watched from afar, but not so far that he had not seen this beautiful mortal board the ship that was now at the bottom of the ocean.

He’d followed from his vantage point in the water.  He’d watched as the mortal had walked carefully around the boat.  Blair’s insides tightened with need, with hunger.  He ached with the need to claim what was not allowed.

He watched, waited and wanted.  When the ship had exploded, he had sought sight of the beautiful human who had caused such cravings, praying he had not been killed in the explosions that had followed.

Blair’s heart had hammered heavily in his chest as he sought sight of his beloved human.  He caught sight of him as the mortal had flung himself into the sea.

The merman continued to move thru the ocean at an astounding speed.  Before long, he could see lights of the city known as Cascade.

His eyes filled with tears as he changed form.  Fins and tail were replaced by legs, allowing him to walk on the land.  He lifted the human as if he weighed nothing, carefully placing him on dry land.

He looked down at his still and silent human, allowing the tears to fall.  Reaching down, he gently touched his beloved’s forehead, watching him stir as wakefulness came.  If the tears fell onto his mortal’s chest, Blair did not acknowledge it.

As the groggy human sat up, Blair once again became a creature of the sea and hurled himself into the cold waters of his home.  With one last, longing look, he disappeared into the oceans depth.
