Love’s Miracle

Fraser stared out the window of the home Ray and he had bought.  He hurt, he never hurt this bad in his whole life.  Tears streaming continually down his face.

“Son, what’s wrong?”  Fraser’s father, asked quietly.

Fraser seemed to close inside of himself even more.  “Nothing, Father.  Please go away.”

“No.  I’ve come to check on you and I find you practically hysterical.  Not a good thing if you are a man, I must say.”

“How the hell would you know what I am you were never around,” Fraser told him angrily.  Wiping the tears from his face.

“I know, son.  But I’m here now.  Let me help.”

“You can’t help me, you’re dead.”

A small heartfelt sigh.  “I really wish you’d quit bring up that little technicality.”

“Little?  Technicality?  I don’t think so father.  Please go away.”

Benton, please?”

“Alright.  You want to help?  Fine.  Find a way for me to have a baby.  Ray’s baby,” Fraser shouted angrily.

Bob Fraser’s eyes opened wide.  “Baby?  Benton you’re a male.  You can’t have a baby.”

“I know that.  You think I don’t know that.  Go away, father.  Just go away.”

Fraser threw himself on the couch, covering his face with his arm as he began to talk. “I love him so much, Father, so very much.  He’s the only person in my whole life who gives a damn about me.  To just about the exclusion of everything else.  He finds ways to make me smile when I’m sad.  I’ve been so sad. It hurts him to see me so sad.  He cries with me and hold me tight, so tight.  All I feel is his love for me. Never asking for anything in return.  All he wants is to love me.  All he wants…” The words trailed  off as  Fraser began to cry again.  “Is to love me.”

“Do you love him?”

“With my heart and soul.”

“As he loved you?”

Yes.”

“Then why isn’t it enough that you love him the same way?”

“I want…I want the ultimate expression of our love.  I want a baby.  A baby that is his, mine, ours.  A little piece of him, a little piece of me.  Father, do you understand?”

“Yes, son.  I understand.  You were conceived in love.” Fraser uncovered his face and stared at him.  Bob Fraser sighed again.  “Yes, I know I haven’t proven it much.  Yet you were brought into this world in love.  I know what you’re feeling.  It’s harder when your relationship is with another male.  It changes things drastically.”

Benton sighed sadly.  “Tell me about it.”

“Son, think seriously about adopting.”

“No.”

“Son, it would be a child you raised together.”

“Yes, but it would not be a child conceived in our love.”

Benton…”

“Father, please.  Just go away.  You’ll never understand.  Just let me be.”

Bob Fraser stared at his son for a long moment.  Watching as renewed tears coursed down the handsome face of his son.  This seemed to be something Benton wanted desperately.  With his whole heart and soul.

His own eyes filled with tears.  He’d never been able to help his son when he was alive.  Maybe just maybe he’d be able to help him in this.  With that thought he winked out.

Hours later he reappeared to find Benton in the same place he’d left him in.

“Son, I have some news for you.”

Father, please-just go away.”

“No, Benton-look I have some news for you.  Something I think you’ll be very pleased with.”

“What, Father?”  Fraser asked wearily.

“Well, at least look at me.”

“Alright, Father,” Fraser sat up and stared at him impatiently.

“I went to a lot of trouble for you, Son.  The least you could do is give me a little kindly consideration.”

Fraser sighed softly.  “Alright Father.  You’re right.  I’m sorry.  What news do you have for me?”

“I begged and pleaded on your behalf and have finally got the answer I sought.  You will have your child.  Yours and Ray’s.”

Fraser sat straighter on the couch. His blue eyes shining with a desperate hope.  “How father?”

Bob Fraser smiled mischievously.  Well, we plea bargained.”

“And?”

“I have agreed to two more years of active service before I can join your mother.  In exchange, you will have your child.”

“But father I’m male.  Ray is male.  How is this going to be possible?”

“You were hoping for a miracle.   A miracle you shall have.  Don’t question it to heavily.”

“Alright Father.  But I do need to know the mechanics of it.”

Benton Fraser had the honor of seeing his father turn bright red.  Almost redder than the uniform he still wore.  It took him several failed attempts at talking before he was able to get the words out.

“You need to get Ray to agree to this.  First, you must get Ray to agree.  That is a major-no-way-around-it rule.”

Fraser nodded.  “Of course.  I would never do something of this magnitude without Ray’s consent.”

“Good.  Good.  Second, how do I say this?”

“Straight and to the point, I have found works best.”

“Ah, yes, hmm…”

“Father, please,” Fraser said impatiently.

“Well, hmm…  Alright.  I need samples of your sperm.”

“What!”  Fraser eyed his father in shock.

Robert smiled at him.  “Sorry, son, but you want a baby, don’t you?”

“You know I do.”

“Then you do whatever is necessary.”

“Alright, Father.  By when do you need the samples?”

“There is no time limit.  Call me when you are ready and we will proceed.”

“Fine.  Father?”

“Yes, Son.”

“Thank you.”

Robert Fraser gave Benton a huge smile.  “Nothing is to good for my son.  Nothing.”  With that he winked out again.

Later that night over dinner Fraser decided to broach the subject.

“Ray?”

The blond looked over at his lover of one exciting, passionate year.  “Yeah?”

“Have you ever wanted children?”

“You know I have.”

Fraser stared at Ray, his blue eyes filled with love and a strange sort of hope.  “With me?”

“I would, Frase.  But one of us is the wrong sex.   You do know that, right?”

Fraser played with his spoon.  “Yes, Ray, I know.  But what if there was a way?  Would you be willing to have a baby with me?”

Ray frowned at Fraser.  “Have you been licking the weird stuff again, Mountie?”

“No, Ray.”

“Smelling the funky stuff?”

“No, Ray,” Fraser gave him a tiny smile.

Suddenly Ray understood.  “Been talking to your dad, huh?”

“Yes, Ray.”

The blond nodded, his head as if that explained everything. “Gotcha.”

“He and I had a talk this morning.  You know that I’ve been very sad.”

“Yeah, lover.  I do.  I haven’t questioned you on it hoping you’d eventually talk to me about it.”

Fraser’s eyes filled with tears, spilling down his pale cheeks.  Ray reached over and gently caressed Fraser’s face, wiping them away.  “Talk to me, Mountie.”

“I love you, Ray.”

“I love you too, Ben.  And I don’t like seeing you so sad.”

Fraser sighed, softly.  “I know.  It’s just that I want a baby.”

“You wanna adopt?”

“No, Ray.  Though, I’m sure there are children who would benefit, I am selfish enough to want one that’s yours and mine.”

“Ah, Mountie, you ask for the impossible.  I’d give it to you if I could, but it’d take a miracle.”

Ray blinked at the brilliant smile Fraser gave him.  “My Father.”

“Your Father-what?”

“He can give us the miracle we are asking for.”

Fraser, you know I love you, but you ain’t making sense.”

“Aren’t, Ray.  Aren’t making any sense.”

Ray rolled his eyes.  “Yeah, okay, whatever.  Just tell me, would ya?”

“Right you are, Ray.  Well, my father came to visit me this morning and found me crying over there by the window.”

“Oh, Frase,” Ray whispered, caressing the Mountie’s face with the hand still gently cradling his love.

“I know, Ray.  It’s just that I was so sad,” Fraser repeated, moving into the touch.  “For wanting something I know I could never have.”

“We can adopt.”

“It just wouldn’t be the same, Ray.”

“Alright, Frase.  I understand that.  Then what are you trying to tell me?”

“My father can give is the miracle I’ve so desperately wanted.”

“A baby?”

“A baby,” Fraser repeated happily. “A baby, yours and mine.  A true miracle conceived in our love.”

Ray didn’t question to deeply what Fraser was telling him. He’d seen his lover talking to his dead Dad.  Had since they’d become lovers.  He’s written it off as something in the exchange of semen, but that was a whole other story.  He’d even talked to Fraser’s Dad.  Who was kinda cool once you got over the whole being dead thing.

“What are you tellin’ me, Frase?”

“My Father can give us a child, Ray?”

The blond widened his eyes at his Mountie.  Whoo, kinky, lover,” he told him, wiggling his eyebrows.  He giggled at the bright red blush that stained those pale cheeks, on that really handsome face.  “I love it when I can get you like that.”

Fraser smiled at him.  “Yes, Ray, I’m sure you do.  Well, my love, will you have a baby with me?’

Ray looked at Fraser, seeing the almost desperate hope in his blue eyes.  It had replaced the utter sadness and despair that’d been there for some time.  “Yes, Ben, I’d very much like to have a baby with you.”

For his reward Fraser launched himself at Ray.  Almost knocking them both off the chair the blond had been sitting on.  “Oh, Ray.  I love you so much,” Fraser told him happily.

Ray laughed as his Mountie covered his face with kisses.  “I love you to, Frase.  I love you, too,” he replied, tightening his arms around his very happy lover.  He didn’t know how Fraser’s dad was going to pull it off, but if it made his Mountie this happy, he was all for it.

Ray watched as his lover went into Mountie overdrive.  Quietly and efficiently getting everything they would need for a baby.  From a crib, to blankets, bottles and formulas.  You name it, Benton Fraser researched and carefully chose which would be best for their baby.

“Hey, Frase, do we have any money left after you spent it all on baby stuff?”  he asked from the bedroom doorway.

Fraser looked up from where he sat cross-legged on the floor.  Deif at his side, putting together one of those carousel type thingies that went on cribs.  It had unicorns and played music to boot.

“Of course, Ray.  I would never endanger our finances.  Especially not with a baby on the way.”

“Just checking.  Cause we still have to save to send the kid to college.”

Fraser’s eyes went wide.  “College?  Oh, my gosh-you’re right.  We need to start a college fund.  Maybe I should go to the bank.”

Ray laughed.  “Easy there, Mountie.  We have plenty of time.  We don’t even have the baby yet.  When do you want to call your dad?”

Fraser’s eyes shone with a deep inner joy.  Making him ever more beautiful than before and that was saying a lot as Benton Fraser was already Gods gift to man.  At least to the man by the name of Raymond Stanley Kowalski.  “Tonight, Ray?”

“Whenever you thing we’re ready, babe.”

Fraser nodded solemnly.  “Tonight it is.”

Trying to find the best way to do this, they decided their baby would be conceived in warmth and love.

Fraser slowly deliberately made love to Ray.  Using mouth and hands.  When the time came, carefully gathering Ray’s semen in a glass vial set aside just for this purpose.

Fraser stared up at the ceiling when his time came.  Lost in the pleasure Ray was giving him. His hands flexing in the bed covers, fighting the urge to pull the blond’s head closer.  Now was not the time.  He moaned softly in loss as Ray moved up his body, laying kiss after kiss on his abdomen and chest, lingering just long enough to suckle on one nipple and then the other, before giving Fraser a soul-destroying kiss.

“Good, Ben?”  he asked as he began a stroking motion with his hand guaranteed to bring one passion-soaked Mountie to completion.

“Oh, yes, Ray,” Fraser told him breathlessly.  oh,yes.”

“Ready to come?”

“Yes, Ray.”

The blond increased the almost frenetic pace.  As he shared hungry kisses with his Mountie.  “Come for me then.”

Fraser arched up, spilling his seed over Ray’s hand and onto his belly.

The blond quickly scooped as much of it as he could into a vial.  While his lover tried to catch his breath.  Licking the remnants from his fingers and palm happily.

“You know Fraser, I think we had enough to fill two vials with just yours,” he laughed when his Mountie blushed.

“Oh, Ray.”

“Am I that good or do you love me that much?”

“A lot of both, Ray,” Fraser replied, licking the hand being offered to him. “a whole lot of both.”

“Hmm, wanna call your Dad now?”

Fraser pulled Ray toward him.  “In a minute.  I need a hug from my love and to tell him how much I love him.”

Ray went willingly.  “Oh, yeah?  Want me to go find him for you?”

Fraser smiled happily as he gathered the slight figure close.  “Silly, Ray,” he told him affectionately.

“Hmm, yeah-that’s me,” Ray replied, raining kisses all over a giggling Mountie’s face.  Finally pulling away once he had Fraser breathless.

“Okay, enough of this mushie stuff.  Come on let’s go make us a baby.”

Dressed and in the living room, Fraser called his father.

In the next instant.  Robert Fraser appeared.  “Well, it certainly took you long enough.”

Fraser frowned at his father.  “We need time to prepare.  Supplies to buy.  Leave of absences to obtain.  This is not something we entered into lightly, Father.”

Robert sighed.  “Yes, of course.  Through as always.”  He turned to Ray who held the two vials very carefully. “Is that the…hmmm?”  he trailed, unable to finish the sentence.

“Huh, yeah,” Ray, replied.  “How do you wanna do this?”

“Do you have another vial?”

“Here,” Fraser replied, always prepared.  By this time Ray and Fraser had the distinct pleasure of seeing Robert Fraser turn an interesting shade of puce.

“You need to mix the two-hmm, the two… Mix it together.”

Ray smiled.  “Can’t say it, huh?”

Robert gave a shaky smile.  “No, I’m afraid I can’t.”

Ray and Fraser very carefully poured the semen from the two containers into one.  Once that was done they looked up at Fraser’s Dad expectantly.

“Shake the vial carefully.  Son, what do you want, a boy or a girl.”

Fraser turned wide blue eyes to the blond.  “Ray, we didn’t discuss what we wanted.”

Ray caressed the side of his Mountie’s face.  “Yeah, I know.  We were so busy buying stuff for the kid we completely forgot to talk about that.”  He turned to Robert.  “Can I ask you something?’

“Most assuredly.”

Ray swallowed heavily.  “I know you went out on a limb for us and all, but can we asked for just a little more? We’ll never get another miracle like this again.  Can we have both.

“Oh, Ray, that’s a splendid idea.”  Fraser told his love, happily.  “A boy and a girl.”

They both looked at Robert, faces filled with hope and longing.  Robert felt his eyes fill with tears at the desperation he saw there.

“I don’t know.  I must ask.  Hold on a second.”  Robert turned his head to one side as if listening to something or someone.  After many an anxious moment he turned back the men waiting anxiously on the couch.

“Yes.  It is your miracle.  You may have a boy and girl.”

“Father, this will not add extra time that you will be away from mother, will it?”

Robert smiled.  “No, Son.  Thank you for asking.  It will not.  Come let’s see to your miracle.  Alright, I think you will need two blankets.  I do not think you want your children born on the floor.”

Ray and Fraser were quick to comply.  Each anxiously holding a blanket, looking so hopeful at Robert it broke his heart.   “Take a drop of the mixed semen and place it in the middle of the blanket.”

Fraser placed the drop on Ray’s blanket and Ray carefully did the same to Fraser’s.

“I love you, Ben.”

Fraser gave him a brilliant smile.  “And I you.”  He laid his head gently against his loves “So very much.”

Suddenly the room was filled with a bright sparkling light.  Where they’d placed the drops, whirling patterns of brilliant stars arose.  The brightness began increasing until both Ray and Fraser were forced to close their eyes.

They reopened them to the sounds of babies crying.  Ray looked down at the baby in his lap.  “I’ve got the girl.  Our daughter.”

“And I, our son,” Fraser told him lifting the baby carefully for Ray to see.  “Isn’t he beautiful?”

“Oh, yeah, Ray told him happily.  “Hey, look at our daughter.  She’s a real cutie.”

“I’ll say,  Benton told him running a gentle finger down their daughter’s cheek.  “She has your hair.”

“Hmm, and our son has your big di…”

“Ray!” Fraser exclaimed horrified.

The blond laughed, “That’s my Mountie.  So predictable,” he replied as he watched Fraser cover their son discreetly with the blanket.

“They’re beautiful.  Both of them,” Robert told them hoarsely.  His eyes filled with tears.  “Just beautiful.  “My grandchildren.  Your mother will be so proud.”

Fraser met his Father’s eyes, tears streaming down his face.  “Thank you, Father.  So very much.”

“You’re more than welcome, Son.  Look to your children.  I will be back later.”  With that he winked out.

Ray turned to look at his Mountie.  “Frase, what now?”  he asked, a little lost.

Benton gave him a brilliant smile and a gentle kiss.  “We look to our children.”
